Within only 6 months of Lean System's implementation, Conduit del Ecuador reaches outstanding results.
Conduit del Ecuador is the main manufacturer of iron and steel pipes of the Andean Region. They initiated the implementation of the Lean System after a course given by Qualiplus in Quito. Until June, 2006 – in just 6 months – they obtained the following benefits:
- 71% reduction in the inventory of raw materials - from 120 down to 35 days of production.
- 76% reduction in the inventory of in-process materials – from 24 down to 6 days.
- 44% reduction in the inventory of finished goods, and satisfying an increasing market demand.
- 30% reduction of the production area, which avoided the construction of a new building for a new manufacturing line.
